JERRY LAZO, EA

As an Enrolled Agent (EA), Jerry is a federally-authorized tax practitioner who has technical expertise in the field of taxation and who is empowered by the U.S. Department of the Treasury to represent taxpayers throughout the United States before the Internal Revenue Service. Jerry has earned unlimited practice rights as an Enrolled Agent and can represent taxpayers before all administrative levels of the Internal Revenue Service for audits, collections, and appeals.

Jerry helps individuals and businesses across the United States take a progressive, and forward-thinking approach to their Accounting and Tax needs by advising, representing, and preparing tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations. Jerry also specializes in developing proactive tax planning strategies to help minimize his clients present and future tax burden.

Enrolled Agents like Jerry, defer from other tax professionals because they are required to demonstrate expertise in matters of taxation by passing a stringent, and comprehensive examination process before they may represent a taxpayer before the IRS. Unlike attorneys and CPAs, who may or may not choose to specialize in taxes, Enrolled Agents primarily focus exclusively on the field of taxation and receive their right to practice directly from the U.S. government, rather than at the State level like CPAs and attorneys.

Jerry earned his B.B.A. in Accounting from Georgia State University. He has over fifteen years’ experience in Finance and Accounting in both small and large organizations. He worked for two public accounting firms in the Atlanta area where he applied his accounting background to play a crucial role in implementing tax strategies for businesses and individuals. He also worked for the U.S Federal government as a Financial Analyst. He currently serves on multiple corporation’s boards in Georgia, Nevada & Texas. Jerry is presently pursuing his Master of Science in Taxation at University of Cincinnati.

Jerry enjoys spending time with his family, wife and two kids. He supports two cancer organizations, ALSAC/St. Jude children’s Research Hospital and Join the Flock, Inc.
